Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Summary

This position will organize the flow of manufacturing to ensure products meet all deadlines. This responsibility will include the knowledge of the products to be built, knowledge of the flow to build them, the final QC of the product, packaging & labeling, and final delivery to the warehouse.

Role & Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Work with group leads & reports to organize the daily work – daily, custom, stock, priority timeline items and ensure products are meeting job deadlines.
  • Continual analysis of workflow procedures and equipment to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Train employees on the manufacturing techniques and equipment of assigned families of product.
  • Organize the process for the QC of products – quality of parts, specifications, stickers, paperwork check.
  • Advice for Manufacturing Manager, for last minute items, large orders, (weigh all options before an answer is given, including labor involved, timelines, materials, ship methods).
  • Work with Manufacturing Manager to develop, implement, and enforce procedures and long-term manufacturing strategies.
  • Work with the Planning Department on schedules for all parts within areas of responsibility.
  • Review inventory accuracy of raw materials for items within areas of responsibility. Provide Inventory Control weekly counts for raw material unique to products responsible for
  • Oversight of staff includes assisting in hiring, procedure training, payroll, injury reports, quality control, proper staffing needs, organizing the flow of product to the warehouse, procedure enforcement, and assisting with terminations.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • All manufacturing areas in Springfield VA facility.

  • Ability to understand product workflows and manage people to adjust the flow as required.
  • Ability to direct multiple groups of people in a positive and productive manner.

  • Ability to work independently to start and finish responsibilities.
  • Ability to direct people so the work is completed in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience in related areas required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Requires time on the floor daily building & directing the flow of products along with some time spent sitting at a desk working on computer.
